Cookie policy

This site uses Google Analytics, Yandex Metrica with session recording and a support chat from the first page you open. You can decline at any time: we then switch analytics off, delete its cookies and stop loading the chat.

What we store without asking

A few small values in your browser’s storage, not cookies. None of them identifies you:

• theme — whether you picked the light or the dark theme.
• consent — your answer to the banner, so we stop asking.
• entry — the address you arrived from and its campaign tags. It is forgotten when you close the tab, and leaves your device only if you send us a request through a form.

Some pages also remember small conveniences the same way — for example that you dismissed the note over the editor demo.

Spam protection on request forms

When you open a request form, we load Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It runs only inside the form, is needed to accept your request, and is not used to track you across sites. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum.

What Google Analytics sets

Unless you have declined, we load Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help and which do not. It sets its own cookies on this domain:

• _ga — tells one browser from another. Expires after two years.
• _ga_<id> — keeps the current visit together as one session. Expires after two years.

We look at these in aggregate: which pages get read, where people arrive from, what breaks. We do not use them for advertising and we do not sell them.

Yandex Metrica and session recording

Unless you have declined, we also load Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service by YANDEX LLC. Besides counting visits, it records sessions: how a page was scrolled, where people clicked and what they typed into search, so we can see where the site confuses people. The request form is excluded from recording: what you type there, including your email address, never reaches it.

Metrica sets its own cookies on this domain:

• _ym_uid — tells one browser from another. Expires after one year.
• _ym_d — the date of your first visit. Expires after one year.
• _ym_isad — whether an ad blocker is on. Expires after 20 hours.
• _ym_visorc — keeps session recording working. Expires after 30 minutes.

It also keeps a few values starting with _ym in your browser’s storage. Yandex may set cookies on its own domains, such as yandexuid; we cannot see or remove those from here. We use Metrica the same way as Google Analytics: in aggregate, not for advertising, and we do not sell the data. See Yandex’s privacy policy.

Support chat

Unless you have declined, we load the Dashly support chat a few seconds after the page opens, so you can write to us without leaving the site. Dashly sets its own cookies to keep your conversation across pages and visits.

Changing your mind

You can switch your answer at any time. Declining stops Google Analytics on the page you are on, deletes its cookies and keeps it off on every page after that. Yandex Metrica, including session recording, has no reliable way to stop halfway through a page: its cookies and stored values are deleted at once, and it no longer loads from the next page. Visits recorded before you declined stay in our reports in aggregate form. The support chat stops loading from the next page; its cookies are removed by clearing site data in your browser.
