Why build Marketing Cloud emails in Blocks
-
Edit by clicking
Every heading, image and button is a block. Change the email without touching code or waiting for a developer.
-
Ready for phones
The layout adapts to small screens on its own, so you don’t build a separate mobile version.
-
Connect once per project
Add your Marketing Cloud keys in the project settings once. Every export from that project lands in the same account.

Frequently asked questions
- What does the export create in Marketing Cloud?
- An HTML email in Content Builder, in the default folder. You use it in Email Studio or Journey Builder like any other email. Nothing goes out until you send it.
- What do I need to connect Marketing Cloud?
- An installed package with an API integration: its subdomain, client ID and client secret, plus a sender address verified in Marketing Cloud. You add them once in the project settings.
- If I edit the email again, does Marketing Cloud update?
- No. Each export creates a new email in Content Builder, so earlier versions stay as they were. Export again once the email is final.
- Can I use personalisation strings?
- There is no menu of them in the editor, but you can type a personalisation string into the text, such as %%FirstName%%. Check it in Marketing Cloud’s preview before you send.
- Where are the images stored?
- On Blocks’ image server. The email links to them, so there is nothing to upload to Content Builder.
- What about the preview text?
- Add it in Content Builder after the export. The subject line goes across; the preview text doesn’t.
