Best Beefree Alternatives (Now RGE Studio) Compared
The Beefree email builder has a new name. In 2026 it became RGE Studio and joined the Really Good Emails family: beefree.io now says that “the Beefree email builder is now RGE Studio”, and its pricing page has moved to reallygoodemails.com. If the change made you look around, or you have simply outgrown your plan, this article compares six Beefree alternatives and explains how to bring your Beefree emails to Blocks.
What changed with the move to RGE Studio
According to the RGE Studio help center, nothing was lost in the rename: “every email, landing page, template, and saved asset is still in your account, untouched”, and accounts with the same email address were merged automatically. Some connectors to email platforms may need to be reconnected.
The name Beefree stays with the company and with Beefree SDK, the editor that software companies embed in their own products. This article is about the email builder for marketers and designers, now called RGE Studio.
Why people look for a Beefree alternative
RGE Studio is a mature editor with more than 1,600 templates, comments on every plan and 23 connectors to email platforms. The reasons to compare usually come down to plan limits, all listed on the RGE Studio pricing page:
- Exports on the free plan. Starter allows 10 designs and 6 exports a month, and every connector push, ZIP download or HTML copy counts as an export.
- Importing HTML. It is available only on paid plans: 4 imports a month on Professional and 10 on Business.
- Users. Professional ($25 a month billed yearly, $30 monthly) includes 2 users, and each extra user costs $15 a month.
- Team features. Real-time co-editing and unlimited AI images start with Business at $134 a month billed yearly ($160 monthly).
- Code. There is a Custom HTML block for your own code on every plan, but no full code editor for the whole email.

The six Beefree alternatives
1. Blocks
Blocks covers the same everyday work as Beefree, drag-and-drop editing, free templates and export to email platforms, and adds a code editor for the whole email. You can export to 53 platforms or download HTML, ZIP, PDF and Outlook files, and use the AI text assistant, image generator and AI email generation.
Blocks reads Beefree layouts. When you import an email made in Beefree, the editor recognises its structure and converts it into editable blocks in one click, including the mobile version and hidden elements, as described on the HTML email converter page. The steps are below.
Personal costs $16 a month billed yearly ($20 monthly) for one user, Advanced costs $37 ($45) for 3 users, and Pro costs $79 ($95) for 10 users. See all limits on the pricing page.
2. Stripo
Stripo is the closest match in scale: more than 1,650 templates and export to 90+ email service providers on paid plans. Unlike RGE Studio, it has an HTML and CSS code editor next to the drag-and-drop editor, AMP support, and real-time co-editing and comments on every plan.
The free plan is tighter than Starter: 4 exports a month and no export to email service providers. Basic costs $16.7 a month billed yearly ($20 monthly) for 2 members. Imported HTML stays fully editable only if it is MJML. Read more in our Stripo review and our list of Stripo alternatives.
3. Topol
Topol suits those who mostly need lots of exports at a low price. Topol PRO costs $10 a month billed yearly ($15 monthly) for one user, HTML downloads are unlimited, and you can export templates to 26 platforms. Its AI chat builds and edits an email from a description, without credits.
There is a 14-day trial without a credit card but no free plan on the pricing page. Team features such as comments and roles come with the Team plan, $15 a month billed yearly ($20 monthly) for 3 users. Read more in our Topol review.
4. Postcards by Designmodo
Postcards builds emails from ready-made modules and has a free Start plan with 10 projects and 5 exports a month. On paid plans, from $16 a month billed yearly ($19 monthly), AI Suite writes whole emails from a prompt, edits and translates them.
For anyone moving from another editor, Postcards uses AI to convert an existing HTML email into an editable template: 5 imports after sign-up, then 20 a month on Plus and 50 on Pro. Read more in our Postcards review.
5. Tabular
Tabular is for people who care about pixel-level control. It lets you design a completely different mobile version of an email, and the company says its emails look right in more than 50 email clients, older Outlook versions included. Plus costs €24.17 a month billed yearly (€29 monthly) for 2 members, and the free plan keeps 3 emails with 3 exports a month.
Tabular’s website does not mention AI tools or importing emails from other editors.
6. Chamaileon
Chamaileon targets larger teams with a formal review process: real-time co-editing, approvals inside the editor and ISO 27001 certification. There are no public plans: subscriptions start “from $4k/year or $400/month”, with as many seats as you need.

How to move your emails from Beefree to Blocks
Blocks imports Beefree emails as HTML files. It does not read Beefree’s own design format (JSON), so you will need an HTML or ZIP export of each email.
- Export the emails from RGE Studio. Download each email as a ZIP file with HTML and images, or copy its HTML and save it as a file. On the free Starter plan, each download counts towards the 6 exports a month.
- Turn on the Blocks trial. Create a Blocks account and turn on the free 14-day trial. Importing and the Beefree converter are part of the paid plans, and the trial opens them without a credit card.
- Import and convert. On your project page, click Import email from file and choose the ZIP, HTML or EML file (how importing works). Images from a ZIP file are uploaded from the archive, and images that load from the web are copied into your project’s storage. Then open the email and convert the Beefree layout into editable blocks.
